Sending a blast
Send a one-shot email to all leads or a segment.
A blast is a one-time email send. You pick an audience (a segment or a whole campaign), pick a template, and either send now or schedule for later. Available on the Team plan.
Create a blast
From Blasts in the sidebar, click New blast.
- Template — pick from your email templates library, or create one inline
- Audience — pick a segment, or “All leads in [campaign]”
- Send time — Send now or Schedule for a future date/time
The composer shows a recipient count so you know how many people will receive it before you confirm.
The blast lifecycle
Blasts move through a strict set of states:
draft → scheduled → sending → sent
↘ ↘
cancelled paused → resumed → sending
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
draft | Not yet scheduled or sent. Editable. |
scheduled | Will start sending at the configured time. Cancellable. |
sending | Currently in flight. Pausable. Not editable. |
paused | In flight, paused. Resumable or cancellable. |
sent | Finished sending. Read-only. |
cancelled | Killed before reaching sent. Read-only. |
Once a blast is sent, you cannot edit or “re-send” it — duplicate it instead.
Throttling
Long-running sends are batched by Sjocamp to stay within deliverability limits. You don’t need to configure batch size for typical sends; for very large lists (>10k) the platform paces automatically.
Pausing and cancelling
While a blast is sending, you can pause it from the blast detail page. Pausing stops new outbound emails immediately; emails already handed to the SMTP layer will still deliver. Resume to continue, or cancel to stop entirely.
Tracking
Each blast has an Analytics tab — see Blast analytics.
Tips
- Blast a verified-only segment. Blasting unverified addresses tanks your sender reputation.
- Send a test to yourself first. The blast composer has a Send test button that delivers one copy to your own email with sample variable values.
- Schedule sends for the recipient’s morning, not yours. 9am Pacific is 6pm in Berlin.
