Email verification
Require leads to confirm their address before counting them.
Email verification filters out typos, fake signups, and disposable addresses by requiring the lead to click a confirmation link.
How it works
- A lead submits the form.
- They’re saved with status Pending and a position number.
- Sjocamp sends them a verification email with a one-time link.
- When they click it, status flips to Verified.
Pending leads still occupy a position in the list. They count against your plan’s lead limit.
Enabling it
Open the campaign’s Settings tab. Toggle Require email verification.
Customizing the verification email
The Email builder tab inside the campaign lets you design the verification email — subject, body, and call-to-action button. Use the visual editor or paste your own HTML. See Email builder.
Resending and manual verification
In the Leads tab, open any pending lead. You can:
- Resend verification — re-issue the email
- Mark verified — flip the status manually (useful if a lead replies that the link bounced)
Segments and verification
Verification status is the most-used segment filter. A typical setup:
- Active subscribers segment → status is verified
- Cold leads segment → status is pending and signed up more than 7 days ago
Email blasts targeted at the verified-only segment have dramatically higher delivery and engagement.
Why use it
- Inbox providers (Gmail, Outlook) penalize sending to unverified addresses. Your future blasts land in spam if the list is dirty.
- Referral incentives can be set to count verified referrals only — preventing fake-account farming.
